Tiger in Balance

Tiger in Balance

$140

Playing with this new idea for a tiger shark painting and the concept of balance (and imbalance) in nature shown through symbols!

The upside down triangle balanced perfectly on its point is considered a symbol of "balance in life", with no scale tipping too far one way. The same figure also represents the mother, meaning mother earth, the womb of life. I made this correlation with the tiger and the ocean, because our world is quite literally like this triangle, perfectly balanced with life, until something starts to shift the balance too far to one side, impacting the very life that has existed for millions of years. You can see elements of what is causing this shift, in the form of plastic bags, hooks from long lining, bottle caps and straws, which abstractly form the background details that form the ocean current pattern within the triangle.
