Atlantic Goliath Grouper are one of the largest fish you could meet in the sea, but no worries; they’re also one of the most gentle! Found throughout the coastal regions of Florida and the Caribbean, they almost went extinct in the late 1980s due to poor fishery management and overfishing. In years since the harvest ban of 1990, they’ve made a steady comeback thanks to the dedication of passionate individuals like yourself, who see the benefit of this beautiful and inquisitive species for future generations to enjoy!
Today, you can see punch-buggy sized Grouper on the reefs and wrecks found in Biscayne National Park, and if you’re lucky, the curious soul may visit you while snorkeling! “Goliath” highlights what we can do as a community when we come together to protect something we love! I believe we need this kind of inspiration now more than ever if we are to come together and shift our society towards values of sustainability for future generations to also have the opportunity to thrive.
By adding this bold piece to your home, you are directly supporting Biscayne National Park initiatives to protect and restore the bay! :)
